ABOUT

The idea behind Rewired Nutrition & Fitness started when two Purdue University grads crossed paths in Georgia. Coworkers who quickly grew into workout buddies and life-long friends realized they both shared a passion for helping others optimize their health and fitness goals in a sustainable way.

As dietitians, we know how easy it is to get caught up in the misinformation that diet culture spreads in the media. Whether it’s the next fad diet, detox, or weight loss pill that promises you the rapid results you’ve always wanted, we have seen it ALL and understand how frustrating and exhausting it can be to jump from one thing to the next without obtaining lasting results! We want to “rewire” your brain to shift from focusing solely on quick fixes and restrictions to improving your overall relationship with food. We believe exercise should NOT be used as punishment, but instead be something you enjoy, boosting your mood and energy. This will allow you to achieve your short-term goals and provide you with the tools to sustain life-long habits.

REGISTERED DIETITIAN AND CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER

Hey, there! Nicole here, Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer, and I am so excited you stopped by! Before diving into my philosophy and goals as a coach, I think it's important that you get to know me and understand how I developed my passion for health and fitness. The best way I know how to do that is by being 100% transparent with you.

I have always been a logical and analytical thinker. Growing up, I was always active and played sports, but I also struggled with my body image. As I became older, the urge to fit into society's beauty standards started to consume me. I believed that if I did "XYZ" then I would get the results I wanted and develop a new sense of acceptance and love for myself. Boy, was I way wrong! Yes, I achieved the "thinnest" version of myself, but at what cost? I was severely undereating and overtraining my body and even though the scale kept going down, I felt no different internally. If anything, I was more exhausted physically and mentally trying to maintain an unrealistic body size. It wasn’t until I graduated high school that I started realizing how unhealthy my habits and mindset were. As I pursued my degree in nutrition and fitness, at Purdue University (Boiler Up!), I gained the knowledge to rewire my approach to healthy sustainable change. Seeing how sustainable approaches changed my own life has propelled me to share the knowledge with the world.

 

Starting Rewired Nutrition and Fitness was a dream that became a reality! My goal is to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. I want to provide the tools and guidance to assist you in reaching your health/fitness goals in a way that allows you to continue to enjoy life, and not make wellness miserable or mentally taxing. It’s time to take the next steps to a true wellness. I can’t wait to help you crush your goals!

NICOLA SPAULDING

REGISTERED DIETITIAN AND CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER

 

Hello! Nicola here, ACE-certified personal trainer and plant-forward registered dietitian for about two years, also the other half of Rewired Nutrition & Fitness! I’m gonna be honest, my start in the nutrition/fitness world was probably for the wrong reasons. I have always had a passion for cooking and everything food, but even as a teenager, I was always obsessed with exercising to earn my calories and making sure I was following what society labeled a “healthy” diet. I never realized that the world of nutrition and fitness shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all or built around guiltiness. Like most women, I used to constantly compare myself to others, idolizing random #fit social media posts, having no idea what these individuals may actually be doing to obtain their shredded physiques. Back then, I didn’t understand that no matter how strict I was with my diet or how much I pushed myself in the gym, I would never 100% look like someone else because well…that’s scientifically impossible, unless I had a long-lost twin out there.

Throughout my college education and experiences working as a dietitian, I now understand how food should be about the freedom to choose what satisfies and nourishes your body and gives you energy to move in a way that brings you joy. For me personally, this meant becoming a dietitian who specializes in plant-based nutrition because I believe in the transformative power of food—not only for personal health but for the health of our planet. Witnessing the profound impact that dietary choices have on chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure inspired me to help others harness the benefits of a plant-focused lifestyle. 

 

I now want to use the knowledge I have gained through my journey to rewire the mindset my clients have surrounding diet and exercise, and help them realize you can have your cake AND eat it too! You are more than capable of reaching your personal health goals without sacrificing your enjoyment during the process. Whether you're new to plant-based eating or want to refine your current habits, I'll guide you every step of the way with tools, resources, and compassionate support. So, what are you waiting for?
